12Z GFS doesn't even have a light freeze following Saturday's cold front. So much for the big Arctic blast mid-month. Back to around 80 in Houston next week. Spring is coming. I don't see a spring thread started.

No thanks on La Nina. I'd rather never see snow again down here than go through another 3 year La Nina again.

I'm not sure the lakes and aquifers can handle it with the exponential population growth and development.

It snowed pretty hard for a couple of hours. Some dry air that moved in shut down any accumulations as it cut off numerous hours of snow that we were supposed to get. However, we did end up with 1.12” of rain which I can’t complain about after seeing none all summer.

Yeah I think that's what hurt us too I never saw the super heavy precip we needed to snow... Same thing kind of happened last year I guess

The extreme warm anomalies across the north 1/2 of North America was the main culprit. Just not enough cold air to tap into, which was somewhat unexpected looking at historical analogs. Plenty of moisture and systems moving across southern states, just not cold enough in source region!

It could always have been worse though. For the most part, however not being cold, it was pretty cool for a large chunk of winter. The arctic blast was nice even though dry. Plus, we did pick up quite a bit of rain throughout. It was drastically different than basically everyone forecasted and I would like at least one more shot at something but I guess it is what it is. I’m definitely not looking forward to summer being back to La Niña.

Unfortunately this summer is going to SUCK with La Nina coming back, also looks like yet another busy hurricane season with higher odds of seeing development closer to home this upcoming season ( gulf of mexico/ caribbean etc)

Ended up with right around 2" of snow in the NW side of Edmond. It's already gone! All the hubbub and this storm went bust like so many others have the past few years.

It's been rough for sure but one of these years it's gonna flip back... I think .. if it doesn't something is bad wrong
