Most of you know his name from the "Hebert boxes" and his other work during his tenure at NHC. I know him as the man who signed off on my hiring when I was promoted from an internship at NWSFO Albany NY to a general forecaster position at WFO Melbourne, FL in 1994. Before I was hired, he took the time to answer questions I had about the Melbourne office, and all our subsequent interactions up through his retirement in 1998 were friendly. The people he worked with and supervised have nothing but great things to say about him. RIP and condolences to his friends and family.
