It's June 1st so might as well post this...but first an introduction.
A while back (like 2017-2018) I posted a story called "The Harvey Diaries". It originally started as a way to cope with Hurricane Harvey but it snowballed into a whole longer story. It was set in a version of our world where storms were sapient and had souls, and after they died out they ascended to a spirit world where they could interact with other storms from history. The story followed Hurricane Harvey's journey in the material world from his perspective, contrasted with the perspective of people on the ground, and then him learning the truth about his actions in the spirit world by meeting Hurricane Carla and the 1900 Galveston storm.
I have written another story set in this same world, in which there is a select group of people who summon the spirits of storms back from the spirit world and give them a new physical form, and work together with them to protect the balance of nature. Of course what ends up happening is Carla and 1900 are accidentally mailed to a random young woman in Galveston. Stuff ensues.
As you can imagine, the story is a lot sillier than the Harvey Diaries story (in my head it's basically an animated cartoon) but it does get more serious towards the end when 1900's true nature is revealed.
The first chapter is on Wattpad here: https://www.wattpad.com/1375075814-meli ... -episode-1
The other chapters can be accessed from this site too. You might need to make a Wattpad account and you might not, the website has been really inconsistent about this.
Some stuff that happens in the story that you might find interesting:
-Fighting sentient lightning
-Keeping miniature hurricanes in a bathtub
-Raising a tropical wave into a hurricane and trying to train it
-Riding on the cloud tops of tropical cyclones that you can steer
-Waterspout fishing
-A supercell that you can pilot like it's a gigantic mothership
-A zombie outbreak at UTMB Galveston
-Being trapped in a ghost version of Galveston frozen the day the 1900 storm hits
-Hurricane trying to cook
-Nurdles
...and much more.
I hope you enjoy it.
I have been doing some illustrations of characters from it on my Tumblr (the link is on my profile) but I will probably wait until next year to post them so I have time to illustrate them all.

Yep, I had to make an account because somewhere in the middle of reading it, Wattpad suddenly told me I had to be a member, even though it was fine before.
Yeah, I read it already. Kept me occupied for a whole weekend.
