The precip dichotomy this year between NTX/Okla and south TX has been crazy.

Sure has been. Thankfully it looks like it may even out some over the next few weeks. Extended models are in general agreement of above normal rainfall across the southern half of the state, trending near to below normal over the northern half.
Storms across the Hill Country are gaining strength right now. Hopefully will bring another round of beneficial rainfall to areas that have seen below normal rainfall so far this year.

It doesn't even have to rain a lot here, just clouds and or the threat of rain keeps highs from skyrocketing up. Summer is only 2 patterns, wet is cooler and mild or sunny and hot.

Definitely looks a bit more promising. Anything we can get now as we enter these summer months is obviously a plus via tropical influence or otherwise. Hopefully June ends up looking more like what the month of May typically is across this region. Considering the well below normal precip we had, that would definitely be a welcome reversal.

Good line of storms for sure but the obvious hole just upstream of Canyon Lake is just a cruel joke...good news is the upper reaches of the Guad watershed are getting some too.
Liveth and dieth by the outflow boundary.

And of course, the leading edge of the remnant MCV did eventually trigger a garden variety line of t'storm that rotated through most of the Metroplex (here included).
Fortunately, it was nothing like the deluge we had to contend with the week / weekend before last...

Re: Texas Summer 2024
I'm at the office now, but my home weather station just measured 1.7" of rainfall in +/- 45 min with that outflow-enhanced storm moving SE out west of New Braunfels. Finally a direct hit at my place!
My radarscope app shows some totals of 1-2" in the Canyon Lake watershed/Edwards recharge which is a very very very welcome sight for those of us who have missed out lately in the southern HC.

Euro shows the potential for lots of rain for South Texas but is currently pushing the bulk of it south of the border. Canadian takes a system into Louisiana. Lots to watch.

597dm+ ridge over the northeast and Ohio Valley regions, the western ridge will skip over the southern plains. Places to our east and north May hit 100 before DFW does.
