ATL: INVEST 92L - Models

#1 Postby LarryWx » Wed Jun 19, 2024 5:34 pm

Currently, no model has a TC from this and they haven’t for awhile now. At most they have a very weak LLC and most are more like a trough. I’ve not been expecting a TC from this since the models became weaker a few days ago and thus have been at no more than 20% since then followed by 10% the last couple of days. But you never know for sure as the models are sometimes wrong, especially with small systems. That’s why I haven’t written it off and have continued to monitor. The NHC saying 20% seems reasonable as that is still low.

Hi LarryWx. Since you mentioned the models in your post, split it from the 92L main discussion thread to create the models thread.

06z GFS, not a TC but the closest it has been to one in a while with 25 kt winds and a nearly closed low.
