Recon does support upgrade to 40kt in SE quad, not at the same data point but pretty close imo for what is a messy system

Alberto’s been putting in work today, the circulation has clearly become much better defined. More time and it might have made for decently formidable system. Luckily its large size prevented that. I doubt we’ll be so lucky with future systems

Nah no convection there, its likely not part of the system. Models also showed it doing that. The winds are from the easterlies across the GoM which also pushed the NW lobe out.

A subtle hint of a CDO, would certainly become a hurricane if it had another 36 hours over water.

My posts are my own personal opinion, defer to the National Hurricane Center (NHC) and other NOAA products for decision making during hurricane season.

They were giving us a pretty good whomping in Alvin at roughly the same time -- roughly 30mi/50 km WNW of there.

Well, sadly 3 kids have lost their lives by now due to Alberto's rain in Nuevo Leon, and there's still more rain to come
