if you don't want us to bash you there, please don't bash wwbb here.

No bashing... I just have all the weather info. I need right here at Storm2K.

WWBB is a great board, but so is this one IMO. I enjoy posting and reading at both places. It gets frustrating how often WWBB has problems. I think I have only ever once had a problem with signing on here in the past year - and it only lasted for a few hours. WWBB has problems once a month, and it often lasts several days.

Sacred-They do not care if you are mad. If that is not apparent by now, it never will be. Why people want to congregate at a frequently inoperational, usually confrontational site is beyond me. Storm 2k would dearly love to have the heavyweights of WWBB here, Storm 2k is set up to handle the load and dedicated to avoiding outages. It is almost like addicts pleading to WWBB to please stay up and running so we can fight some more. The talk with Keith Allen last night is illustrative of the wonderful opportunities of internet weather without all the boys locker room nonsense. Come on Dave, HM, meteotrade, Jet Streak, join the group where you are wanted and the fact that you want a site that is operational does not fall on deaf ears.

as for outages
WWBB averages about 50 users at any given time, for here its about half, if not less, and the record at WWBB is nearly 300 at one time, here its 152.
So we have not been able to see yet if storm2k would be able to stand up to what wwbb gets.

True, but storm2k has only been around for one year. I believe WWBB is closing in on 3 years. I too would be interested to see if storm2k could stand up to 300+ users at once. That would be a nice challenge!

To answer that question. We are equipped to handle several thousand of users at the same time. We're operating on almost a dedicated server so even at 1000+ users it wouldn't even be breaking a sweat!
btw I'm the IS Manager for my company. We support our application in a Web environment so I do know what I'm talking about
It's not a guess...it's a fact
As always we welcome the folks from WWBB over here! Some of you may not know that several months ago we made an offer to serve as WWBB's back-up board but they politely declined.

It was "web site not responding". I cannot speak for him and I am sure he is a fine fellow but I doubt the foudner over there ever intended the free bulletin board to become so populated. Their pay sites are well utilized and the bulletin board suffers a severe lack of attention in a variety of forms so I doubt they would be distressed if their number of users decreased from that free board, in fact they might even be relieved.
