Doesn't look tilted at all on radar anymore - but recon will give us a better idea as to the storm's structure when it gets there shortly.

The most rapid pace of strengthening should be within the final 12 hours before landfall - so tonight into tomorrow morning.

So far, recon is finding pressures in the lower 990s. Appears to have deepened. Also, radar shows that we have quite the eyewall starting to develop on the West side

Mets explained why earlier today so not expecting major impacts and the trajectory has it not stalling out inland westward and bombing anyone with catastrophic flooding. So that is good also. Keep looking weak Beryl and I wishcast you to stay a TS or a depression if you feel like it.

Seemed localized; I only got .3" here in East Austin, but I know some friends at the Domain and at Onion Creek got more.

Last reading I saw was 990 and they have not reached the center yet

Idk if those storms yesterday were Beryl related. More dryline or trough related to me. We had the same stuff here in San Antonio.

Well it looks like it got down to 988. Usually the extrapolated pressure is a little bit on the low side, so I would say it's probably a 990 storm right now. If it keeps up that type of deepening throughout the day, I could easily see a skinny into the lower 970s and that will definitely result in a stronger storm

Just turned on the TV to see what local news is saying. Right now looks like landfall around 1am. Ugh. It's always scary having storms hit in the middle of the night.

Might just be deceptive but watching the radar loop it doesn't look like it's moving much. Definitely appears less than 12mph and looks like there might even be a east jog at the end of the loop which is right towards where that new pink burst showed up on infrared.

I think what you are seeing is the tightening of the core

The problem this is dealing with right now is that the storm is too spread out. For it to strengthen, it needs for the strongest winds to tighten up near the center. Right now the low pressure is also spread out, so it needs to consolidate near the center.

This "problem" sounds like a blessing to me. Let's hope that this storm stays "spread out" and only brings minimal impact to those in the path.

You can see the contrast between those who follow and those who live through these storms! No shade to those who follow its just different once you live through these.
