I think practically anything that hits the water in August will form and concur we may see a couple of Cat 5s. The Atlantic already thinks it’s August so super-duper August will be super and duper.

Going with 6 but I think most will remain on the weaker side until 8/20 or so. Going with 6/3/2 for August.

I am in no way a professional. Take what I say with a grain of salt as I could be totally wrong. Please refer to the NHC, NWS, or SPC for official information.

On the other hand, each of those 4 systems go on to become extremely powerful and catastrophic Cape Verde hurricanes

Unless explicitly stated, all info in my posts is based on my own opinions and observations. Tropical storms and hurricanes can be extremely dangerous. Do not think you can beat Mother Nature. Refer to an accredited weather research agency or meteorologist if you need to make serious decisions regarding an approaching storm.

August and September will be rough. I went with 6 or more, think the number will be 9/6/3. September will be very similar, maybe one less for each.

Enjoy the lull for now.

I think there is a chance that the numbers predicted by most of the experts are on the high side. Nature likes to surprise and keep us guessing. We could end up getting surprised by unpredicted anomalies that work to keep the season in check. One such thing could be the SAL. But this is just a hunch. Not based on anything scientific or anything really defensible.

Going with 5, which is just under 2021 and 2023. I expect that like those years, we’ll see a mediocre first half of the month before things start popping off after August 20th, with a Gulf major landfall in late August.

I am only a meteorology enthusiast who knows a decent amount about tropical cyclones. Look to the professional mets, the NHC, or your local weather office for the best information.

Even if Aug 1-10 have none, recent analogs suggest 3-6 NS in August. With the very warm MDR, I’m going with the high side of this or 6 NS.

Big bust coming for my 6 NS for August. But I’ve got lots of company with 2/3 picking 5+. The 2-3 range picks are looking best as of now and were picked by only 8%. Only 1 person picked 2 NS! Small chance for 4 NS.

Very possible that we end the month with only the two we’ve had so far…
