Would have liked some more rain out of this pattern in DFW... but taking a week and a half off the clock with below average summer temps is still very welcome.

I saw that! :) Gotta keep up this streak!

I need to put another faucet on my rain barrel (one on there broke). I need to empty it out to do that. Been afraid to, not knowing when rain would fill it up again from rain. But it looks like the forecast is in our favor for me to do it. And it's gotten a little tepid in there anyway after a couple years, so it needs a cleanout. Good time to do it so it gets fresh rainwater. I think during the worst drought, it was still about half full. Use it to water the many plants around the house mostly, and to supplement/mix with tap water for yard.

Might have another Gulf tropical threat beyond a week. I've heard rumors of a front during this timeframe as well

Until then... Well... We've only had 2 days above 100 so far and may double or triple that next week :spam:

Not to get anyone excited just yet, but the GFS and Euro are both starting to show yet another decent summer front for texas in about 9-10 days, that one could have some more cooler air with it as well, incredible

ENOUGH with the Rain! Over 15 inches this month and SW Houston is not far from the yearly average rainfall. Go somewhere else, rain! Bring back the warm, sunny 90s so I can get someone over to give me an estimate on the back fence and get my generator to the repair shop. Haven't been out on the bikes in 3 weeks now.

Models are sniffing out yet another front in about 8-10 days , let’s keep rain chances around and closer to average temps! Now thats the only kind of acceptable summer here!

Nice soaking this morning across San Antonio metro. Some areas (central/eastern areas who weren't as fortunate earlier in the week) are picking up a quick 1-2 inches.

My dad in north SA sent me a video of it pouring in his backyard. He said (during the video of pouring rain) it had been raining for a constant 15 minutes. It kept going longer. He was going to check his gauge later.

Good news is im not seeing a lot of big heat across at least the southern half of texas even in the extended range, in fact im seeing enough signs in the guidance that we could have another pretty decent summer cold front move down here as we head into early august, pattern ahead looks pretty good actually

So we go back to the high being over us for a few days of sunshine, sure hoping it dries my yard out some so that I can mow... how long is the high expected to stay over us? I have to admit I have thoroughly enjoyed the mild temps we've had. :D

What a great July my backyard has had with the beneficial rain!...my personal weather station has not recorded a single 100F day! It is crazy to think that the month of May was way hotter for us than June and July

That's incredible for down there. Makes sense though with the northern half of Mexico and south Texas in the heat bullseye in late spring. I have family in Leon that purchased wall a/c's due to the very hot weather. All is good down there now with the rainy season in full swing

Ladybug72 the high wont be over texas to long, it keeps on shifting off to the west and eventually sets up shop over the western US, that will allow for a couple of boundaries/ fronts to work there way down into texas , the demise of the heat ridge is beginning with this pattern
