A little bit of dry air can only do so much to disrupt an intensifying system that has an otherwise nearly perfect environment to work with, this will likely become a hurricane within the next 6-12 hours or so

I don’t understand this reasoning. There is a fair amount of dry air to the W and models show it increasing. Question is, does Debby keep it from infiltrating the COC? This could go either way. But don’t dismiss it. This dry air can absolutely keep Debby from flying off the handle. Just have to watch.

I mean I don't think it's going to be a cat 5 or anything, but if Debby's already at 50 kt then I think a 15 kt increase over 12 hours isn't unreasonable, even with some dry air disruption.

Thankfully not much to worry about here so far except one vigorous band earlier this morning and a couple lighter ones after that. Looks like another strong band is heading our way. Checked out the Sanibel causeway and beach cams and they looked good. The surf is pretty rough on the Island Inn cam but that's to be expected.

The radar and satellite presentation of Debby has improved by quite a bit this morning. Could easily see this becoming a strong Category 1 or possibly even a Category 2 hurricane at landfall.

Just landed at SRQ on a flight from ATL. Don’t think that qualifies me as an official hurricane hunter, but it was neat haha. Oddly enough, turbulence was no worse than I’ve had flying into places like ORD before

The air force plane is showing stronger winds near the center as well. Waiting for a VDM to see if they call out the spiraling bands as well.

Just had my first power flicker, thought I was going to be better off moving to this neighborhood with underground power lines.

Still hasn't rained here in land o lakes, i guess it will at some point along with some cold front level of winds. Nothing like Irma at least.

Usually you’ll have a better chance to keep your power on with underground power lines, but in my neighborhood at least, they are still connected to power lines above ground. Praying that all goes well for you and anyone under the gun from Debby. Per Recon, she looks to be organizing quickly and we have a “code shrimp” on satellite.
