Just got into it in Port St. Lucie. I’d call this the main outer band. The stuff we’ve had yesterday was far flung stuff.

Ya, yesterday we had some tropical downpours but no wind like this one

Keep in mind the radar beam, from that distance, is looking at the MLC. If the LLC is following then it's moving in that direction, or a wobble. If tilt is changing then it might look like it's moving NE but in reality still mostly north. We will need to rely on recon to judge actual motion.

I’m in NE FL and we just had our first little band of heavy rain come through…and POOF the power went out. Already? Sigh. The hubs is setting up the generator. Didn’t think we’d get to that point until tomorrow sometime.

A distinct eye is appearing on both satellite and radar. Thats some rapid organization.

I am by no means a professional. DO NOT look at my forecasts for official information or make decisions based on what I post.

Goal: to become a registered expert over tropical and subtropical cyclones.

Center is tightening up on radar. There does appear to be some dry air intrusion on Debby's southwest side however.

So a couple of hours I came on here and said it hasn't been that bad here in Pinellas County. Just a light drizzle and I was expecting worse...

and then almost as soon as I hit submit the heavens opened and the blowers were turned on. Absolutely raining in buckets the last 2 hours and winds gusting over 50mph. Flooding everywhere around me. We've had to receive around 5-6 inches of rain here in Dunedin the last 2 hours alone. This has just been a relentless band hitting us since 4 pm.

Just saw a tweet that they're grounded for the moment while some bad storms have been preventing takeoff for the last hour.

My guess going off pure satellite Debby has reached Cat 1, but we'll see what recon says.

My posts are my own personal opinion, defer to the National Hurricane Center (NHC) and other NOAA products for decision making during hurricane season.

Wow look at that huge hot tower going off over the eye. Seems like a strong sign Denny’s internal structure is good and more pronounced intensification may begin soon.

I am only a meteorology enthusiast who knows a decent amount about tropical cyclones. Look to the professional mets, the NHC, or your local weather office for the best information.

I think we should seeing some modest intensification now until landfall. This is obviously the best Debbie has looked. Yea some dry air still wrapping into the system, which will probably keep it from going higher than a cat 1 like others have pointed out. But I think it it has a good chance of being a strong cat 1.

Pool overflowing near Indian Rocks beach thats 5 plus inches already in the last several hours. Don't remember rain like this since maybe Debby 12 years ago. It ain't just about winds. Pinellas has flash flooding occurring.

She’s a hurricane for sure at this point….just not “officially.”

Impressive ramp-up

Starting to see some towers bubbling up on the SW side now. I'd say we are just about ready for lift off
