55-60 kt FL and 55 kt SFMR so far. Hard to tell if this is the max wind band or not.

I am only a meteorology enthusiast who knows a decent amount about tropical cyclones. Look to the professional mets, the NHC, or your local weather office for the best information.

TS Debby has arrived in coastal Palm Beach county tonight with a vengeance. Very heavy rain and 40 mph gusts.

Our squalls here are getting more fierce, not less, and she's moving away from us.
She's moving towards us from what I see on radar. Moving NE. The tail is always worse for us wind wise. The rain is ferocious nothing like Ive seen in a while!
With these types of storms that move parallel to the FL West Coast, we always get the strongest *sustained* winds after the center passes our latitude because the winds are coming directly off the Gulf and aren't diminished by friction like the E-SE winds over land that precede the center. Before that our strongest winds come in squalls, and right now we're getting some nasty ones.

Definitely the most intense band we have seen yet. Very loud, horizontal training rain. A few tree limbs down. We still have cable and electric though1 fingers crossed that stays one! Lots in Pinellas County are losing it now with this strong band pulse.

Cheers and I hope all is good.

Yep our highest winds will be tonight and tomorrow morning. The rain has been simply torrential! 5.41 inches an hour in St. Pete!!

Expecting recon to find Debby has strengthened into a hurricane when it arrives.

Looks like it’s 60 kt. Center is still broad despite being a lot better organized. I think they missed the exact center by a tiny bit.

and then almost as soon as I hit submit the heavens opened and the blowers were turned on. Absolutely raining in buckets the last 2 hours and winds gusting over 50mph. Flooding everywhere around me. We've had to receive around 5-6 inches of rain here in Dunedin the last 2 hours alone. This has just been a relentless band hitting us since 4 pm.
Same thing here in Perry FL (near coast 1.5 hours south of Tally) about 2 hours ago, many limbs down, since then nada.

Yep the NHC has done a great job in strength so far. I'm also thinking a hurricane when recon gets finished and then 85 to 90 by landfall, just as predicted.

Latest high resolution HRRR model shows a slow N-NE movement toward the coast with landfall approaching Steinhatchee FL at noon tomorrow.

Also in Dunedin and yeah, now that Debby is at about parallel latitude to us we've just been sitting under this band for hours. It's by far the gustiest its been so far and our backyard is a lake now. A house a couple of streets down had a big magnolia tree fall over on it.

Ok, good clarification because when I initially read your post and looked at the radar loop around that time, I was a little confused because a heavy rain feeder band was moving over your general area, so it must not have quite made it to your neighborhood.

You drive slow, it is only a 50 mile drive on a four lane from TLH,, I used to go to FSU, and could smell Perry's paper mills in TLH when the wind was from the SE

NOAA recon went around that hot tower on the northern quadrant, missed the CoC.

Let's hope not! That would give it time to reach cat 2 status if that played out.

Rain finally let up at my house here in St Pete. Hopefully we can get a little break and let some of this water drain.

I feel for you guys in Perry after taking the brunt of Idalia last year. I've driven through there several times since including last weekend and I always notice the damage that's still there. It looks like you're in the bullseye again but I hope the core misses you this time.

Note when you are in Perry that most of the locals have half rotted away teeth, caused by the acidic polluted air. Perry is a place one doesn't want to visit, and most wouldn't want to live there, either,
