Thats insane... how can you not ask for ID at a border????

So many people I know came over here on boats through FT. Lauderdale (ships crew) just hoped off and disappeared into the distance... *sigh* I just cant be dishonest and look what I get for it... a slap in the face.

It does seem truly backwards where we are denying visas for visitors to our country when they go about the whole process legally and we don't go after the illegal immigrants more vigorously.

Indeed Bron,
It is insane. The US/Mexican INS depts 'Profile' based on 'looks'.I am white, blonde and obviously quite American. My ex wife..the same.My children as well.I have crossed hundereds of times. On some occasions, the 'ex' had forgotten her Dr License..or my kids forgot the shool ID..I simply said..they are my family,we live in Tucson,USA...and nooooooooooooo problema! We scooted right through with smiles and good wishes.
On one occasion.my sister was visiting with my Mother fromm NY.They had been shopping with us...even went to a Pharmacia for meds...they forgot thier ID in my car on the US side(we crossed on foot). No search,no questions..just 'with me'.It's as if my ID were a blanket visa for the whole crew!My Mom by the way,Canadian born, naturalized US Cit since 1946.She was shocked since it was POST 09-11!!!!

Piece of cake.

Bron try talking to your Congressman. I dont guarantee anything but give it a shot. If your congressman has connections at INS he may be able to help.

Working through the right channels is the way to get things done. Congressman John B. Anderson got me out of Vietnam with the rest of my comrades when there was a powerplay to keep me there longer than a year while the rest were headed to the plane. One never knows.

Determination can sometimes overcome some mighty big obstacles.

Whatever happens...do your best to take care of yourself during the ordeal. Baby love mommy when she is calm and happy!

Thanks for the prayers everyone.

I have spoken with the congressman's INS lady... she told me pretty much the same thing, they cant go over the embassy's head.
