Two hotels hit in Baghdad by RPGs

#1 Postby streetsoldier » Fri Nov 21, 2003 12:14 am

This just in from FoxNews...the Sheraton (where the FoxNews people are staying) was hit by one RPG, lots of glass, no injuries. However, the adjoining Palestine Hotel, where many other journalists stay, was hit by as many as 5 RPGs...all at dawn Baghdad time, with at least one injured.

This is the latest round of "soft targets" being hit from afar...one recalls that Al Qaida and Taliban sources indicated that journalists would be targeted for death or kidnapping about a month ago. :grrr:

It appears that there were actually three simultaneous attacks earlier; two on the hotels, and a third on the Iraqi Oil Ministry building, which caught fire.

The RPGs were disguised as donkey carts, and one Iraqi was arrested with five more rockets in his vehicle soon after.

Unmitigated acts of COWARDICE, I say ye. :grrr:

Those acts were commited Bill by not proffesional groups but by untrained guys that are doing those things on their own.The more coordinated attacks like the helicopter downings are from more trained and feddalin loyalists with the help from outside the country people.
