"If they were not unanimous"...means that there's one or two "holdouts".

Give them time...they go back into closed session Monday.

I do not understand why anyone would have any doubts about the death penalty. Weren't they paying attention to the prosecution?!

All it takes is one anti-death penalty member on the jury to do this. :grrr:

According to Virginia's clear definition of eligibility, Muhammad is a classic case for death...but there's always ONE to muck up the waters...

To me, it's a no-brainer! The others must be sooo frustrated!

Let me on that jury and we'd break the impasse or I'd break some necks! :-)

What strikes ME as idiotic is that the judge let the jurors go HOME, with instructions not to watch TV or read newspapers...he should have sequestered them in a hotel.

"DUMB...da-dumb-dumb...DUMB...da-dumb-dumb-DUUUUUUMMMMMMB!" :grrr: (..with apologies to Sgt. Joe Friday)

Does that mean that if they can't decide on the death penalty, the entire conviction is thrown out?

Whew!
I'm still amazed about how fast that trial went. All trials should be that expedient.

Where were these jurors at while the killings were taking place at? It is a clearcut case for the death penalty in my eyes.

He terrorized an entire nation, and was also convicted of terrorism. This is treaosn in my book; thus, this should be an automatic death pennalty

This is frustrating. They have let their personal values get in the way of what the law states.

The jury isn't supposed to know anything about the story that lead a person (people) into a court case... that, of course is easier said then done.
