You can! Top left corner of the image of COD, click the little download button (down arrow) select save gif or save video. I do it all the time!

I'm a weather-loving Coastie.
This post is only an opinion not a forecast. Please refer to the NHC and local NWS offices for forecasts.

Looks like some dry air in the SW quad

I seem to recall Levi Cowan saying in one of his recent videos on Helene that some shear out of the west/WSW will pick up and start to hit the backside of Helene in the final few hours before landfall. In his words, not enough and not long enough before landfall to weaken it. May be what we're starting to see.

Spectrum News and Bay News 9 on tv just showed Gulf blvd completely underwater. Check out their website and fb page. Shocking!

Didn't they go underwater for Idalia?
They had the streets blocked off down in Dunedin for the 4 ft elevation for that storm.

Doubtful at 45,000 feet.

They reported to have been caught in some crazy updraft that caused mechanical issues for a while then bolted out southwest.

You’re right but radar can’t penetrate it. Didn’t look at satellite though

Wouldn't be surprised if it makes one last intensification push before landfall.

My posts are my own personal opinion, defer to the National Hurricane Center (NHC) and other NOAA products for decision making during hurricane season.

SW side still looks good on satellite. I agree, I'm not sure the radar is able to penetrate it.

Please delete if humor is inappropriate even though related. Bit vanishes, I will know to never do it again.

Isn't 23mph of forward movement pretty fast for a storm? I thought they had trouble staying "stacked" if they went faster. Does that only apply to weaker storms?

The flight path doesn't support that:

Why does it feel like these storms ALWAYS come ashore when it's dark? The reason I say that is that every time I end up staying up all night to watch (and often regretting it). At least this time it won't be like 2am.

It was Ryan’s recon guy who said it. Perhaps it was southeast. Reilly said they’re heading back in.

Duke reporting over 141,000 with their power out, I'm amazed you still have power out on the beach?
