Im so sick of seeing that high sitting over the Rockies. Been like this for most of the summer. Hopefully its centered off the coast this winter, like 13-14/88-89

Seriously. The high would scoot east for a few days then move back west all summer long it seems. Now it is stuck there leaving most of the country on the warm side. We need rain and fall weather. Too damn dry and hot. I'm tired of the extended summers around here. Sheesh.

I have to agree, the summers extending into the fall months is getting old, it just sucks, nothing else to say really but that

October is a Summer month in Texas. So it will sometimes be a hot one.

That said, the 90s now (versus in June) are pretty darn comfortable with the drier air and lower sun angle.

I would much rather have a warm fall and cold winter rather than a cold fall and a warm winter. If it's cold in fall it's just cold, but with cold winters we often have crazy good odds of good snow.

Summer's for hibernation, Winter’s my vacation

Don't use my posts as forecast, I'm a complete meteorology noob! I just like cold weather, alright?

All observations I post are for Temple, Texas unless otherwise stated.

Winter 2020-2021 :cold:

All observations are in Tecumseh, OK unless otherwise noted.

Winter posts are focused mainly for Oklahoma & Texas.

Take any of my forecasts with a grain of salt, refer to the NWS, SPC, and NHC for official information

Never say Never with weather! Because ANYTHING is possible!

I will take a cold fall, cold and snowy winter, cool to mild spring, and mild summer for 100 please.

Unfortunately the warm Falls haven't translated to cold winters either.

Every Fall since 2015 has been warmer than normal just about. Only winter 2020-2021 was near normal.

Yeah we were 20 degrees at Halloween last year and I'm still not over how bad winter was...

I get it the 90s suck but I want to actually have a real winter this year

Headed to the State Fair today, looking forward to that 93 high temp :Chit:

Texas OU weekend looks like a hot one in the low 90s :sun:

I wish we could get a shot of rain here or there (nothing in sight), but the dry 90F/65F daily temps haven't been that bad. Of course I wish it were more like 80F/60F but this is nothing like summer.

Yeah the lack of rain and endless sunny weather is far more annoying than the heat tbh. Like this isn't our climate in October. We have hit 90s even late into October before

It's really the persistence of the warmth. 90s are not unusual, but to sustain the warmth is what's unusual. Even the hot past couple of years the 90s in October would be broken by cooler air that had DFW in the 60s for highs and low 50s for lows. That's the kicker, we're not catching breaks in a month that should have swings back and forth. We shouldn't normalize what isn't normal because of perception.

Next week and a half looks very boring weather wise, their continues to be some hints in the GFS guidance of blocking trying to setup in NW Canada/ Central canada or sometimes even over alaska, each run has varied on the position of the ridge, and its been consistently showing up in the 9-10 day range on the GFS, could be nothing, but could be a sign towards a pattern change mid month around the 15/16th , maybe some cooler fall air? GEFS kinda showing some blocking but still not much yet, but hey thats about the only thing remotely interesting i see in the models right now
