Water and gas starting to become sparse here in CFL. Seems panic buying is starting to ramp up, but at least they're planning early

National Weather Service Tampa Bay Ruskin FL
259 PM EDT Sun Oct 6 2024
...New DISCUSSION, AVIATION, MARINE, FIRE WEATHER, HYDROLOGY...
.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 256 PM EDT Sun Oct 6 2024
Deep tropical moisture continues to overspread the area with
widespread showers and a couple embedded thunderstorms across the
region. This will continue for the next couple days as a frontal
boundary sinks south. Unfortunately, this will compound the issues
ahead of Milton.
As of 2PM, Milton is now a hurricane. Life-threatening impacts
are expected across West Florida. Here are the key points:
* Milton is forecast to quickly intensify while it moves E to NE
across the Gulf and will be a major hurricane when it reaches the
west coast of Florida mid-week. It is important not focus on the
exact track as there remains significant uncertainty in the
eventual track and intensity.
* There is an increasing risk for life-threatening storm surge and
wind impacts beginning late Tuesday into Wednesday. Storm surge
and hurricane watches could be issued later today and tonight.
* Areas of heavy rainfall will impact the area today through mid-
week. This rainfall will bring the risk of flash, urban, and areal
flooding along with the potential of moderate to major river
flooding.
Once Milton exits the area late Wednesday or Thursday, conditions
will begin to improve. A drier and much more stable pattern is
forecast to settle across the region. However, a strong gradient
will remain for a couple more days, keeping conditions breezy at
least for a couple days. There may be just enough drying and
radiational cooling overnight to see some low-to-mid 60s all the way
down into northern Charlotte County in the wake of this system. At
least a couple milder mornings (and overnight periods) could be some
sort of silver lining to look forward to after a very difficult week
for the region.

After watching Otis from last year devastate Acapulco as a category five, I'm really not looking forward to what Milton might be capable of, especially given how favorable the environment ahead of Milton is.

The order I see is just for residential healthcare facilities at this time:NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND DECLARED in accordance with Resolution No. 24-68, this 6th day of October, 2024:
1.) That in light of the serious threat to the lives and property of Pinellas County residents posed by Milton, a mandatory evacuation is ordered for all Residential Healthcare Facilities within Evacuation Zones A, B, and C. The evacuation is to commence at 1 :30 p.m. on October 6, 2024. EVACUATION ORDER FOR ALL RESIDENTIAL HEALTHCARE FACILITIES WITHIN ZONES A, B, AND C PURSUANT TO RESOLUTION NO. 24-68
2.) This evacuation shall remain in force until ended by further order. All prior orders remain in full force and effect. Any unauthorized person located in, or attempting to enter, an evacuation area after the above stated completion time shall be in violation of F.S. §252.50, and subject to the penalties therein.
Ordered this 6th day of October 2024, at 1:30 p.m.
My Apologies, I did not catch the part about that only being health care facilities

Already is being staged. First priority was to clear debris from barrier islands and counties impacted by the potential path. At the same time A+B evacuations in Manatee and Sarasota plus A+B and hospitals/nursing homes in C included in Pinellas. It's going to be a wild day tomorrow. Buckle up.

I was at Costco in Altamonte 18 mins after it opened. The line was already starting at the back of the store and water was gone.

I live in Pinellas county and I haven't seen anything about Mandatory evac for anything except A and low lying areas prone to flooding and Nursing homes. I can't find any information that has changed yet. I am sure it will but as of Now, It's only A.

Probably going to see a shift north slightly in the track at 5pm, centering around Bradenton and close to the TVCN.

My posts are my own personal opinion, defer to the National Hurricane Center (NHC) and other NOAA products for decision making during hurricane season.

It's nursing homes and hospitals in a,b and c...whichbis a prelude to a full scale evac in those zones. They said so in the briefing.

Looking pretty ragged all of a sudden, maybe it gulped a bit of dry air.

I am only a meteorology enthusiast who knows a decent amount about tropical cyclones. Look to the professional mets, the NHC, or your local weather office for the best information.

I have heard anything like that. Also anyone posting the CLIPER model seem dubious.

Isn't the cliper model actually designed for winter weather modeling and not so much tropical? I don't think I'd put much stock in it personally. Same thing with the GRAF model, It's decent in a very short term outlook but this far out, tends to be very wrong.

Sarasota County schools are closed Mon-Wed for now. I imagine they will extend it to the rest of the week at some point.

While the most recent VDM did have an open eyewall (as opposed to a closed one earlier), a new convective burst a few minutes ago started in the SE and is rotating north. This will likely fix any "issues", if there were even any.
