I often track flights for friends, family, etc. on Flightaware. I'm glad the location / radar image I'm looking at now for Kermit is not one of theirs!

Re: ATL: MILTON - Hurricane - Discussion: 180 mph
I'd say it is about 895 mb given that the plane missed the true center (winds never got below hurricane force). As far as intensity, I'd have to say that those are underestimated and I would go 165 kt.

I’m going with the very lowest 900s with evidence of an outer eyewall.
889mb, 190MPH.
That was my guess a couple hours ago. That's fine, I'll share
Had to price is right everyone guessing 890

Do not take anything I say seriously as a form of meteorological prediction. I am not a meteorologist; I don't think being in law school translates to any special knowledge. I am just a somewhat bullish amateur watcher.

Right below 900 mb! Might be first sub-900 Atlantic storm since Wilma.

Re: ATL: MILTON - Hurricane - Discussion: 180 mph
898.6 mb with 64 kt FL winds. We have our first sub-900 mb hurricane since Wilma.

Sub-900, wow! Not surprised given the presentation.
NHC website is back up for now. I'm expecting a special advisory shortly.

Re: ATL: MILTON - Hurricane - Discussion: 180 mph
Could be as low as 891, hard to get the exact center of a pinhole

Re: ATL: MILTON - Hurricane - Discussion: 180 mph
Well at least extrap is sub 900mbs.
Given the winds probably 895mbs is closer to the mark, though a dropsonde will seal the deal.
