I am only a meteorology enthusiast who knows a decent amount about tropical cyclones. Look to the professional mets, the NHC, or your local weather office for the best information.

STAY ON TOPIC. If you have to say something like ... not to go off topic, don't.

Just like Jon Snow..."I know nothing" except what I know, and most of what I know is gathered by the fine people of the NHC

It looks to me (looking at a longer loop) that the northerly turn is starting

The hurricane still has a very similar structure compared to yesterday, with the long comma shape to it. Really am looking forward to this recon coming up.

Looks like the outflow is really increasing on the far north side.

Just a reminder that with a storm approaching land we are in storm mode, comments can and will be deleted. Storm mode has existed since I joined storm2k, this is not new. One liners or off topic posts are subject to removal. Nothing personal, unless it's an actual violation of S2K policy. Thanks.

The tricky part when a strong upper-level trough is involved in a forecast is to guess whether the positives brought by enhanced poleward outflow outweighs the negatives brought by increasing vertical wind shear and dry air entrainment...unfortunately this time the positives have the upper-hand.

Raw T# now at 7.7 (900mb/160kt) with an eye temperature of 16.2C. I don't think the storm has already caught up to this intensity so for the first pass I'm going with 906 mb / 150 kt as my guess. If Milton can stay like this for a few hours it's bound to reach the Dvorak intensity eventually. MPI in this region of the basin in 179 kt per AI-RI by the way.

Ill take 880/190mph. It looks good here and i think they will find a monster
yes slight wobble but the overall NHC track is intact
