Not sure what's up with Tampa's NWS office. The radar had a hiccup and it's local conditions aren't recording right. The weather station at the airport must be down.

My prayers go out to everyone in this storm’s path. My dad, 2 kids and I am in a non evac zone in Putnam county. Our sunroom was just torn off our trailer and flew over the other side of it. For the first time, I’m scared.

Pretty gusty here in Melbourne. Guessing gusts in the 80s. Lost a tree in the back yard so far.
No power since about midnight. Internet (fiber) just came back.
Just closed on a house in Fellsmere 3 weeks ago so hope it's doing OK down there
Baro is oddly 979.4 and steadily dropping. I'd have guessed it would be higher with the radar presentation...

Just walked outside and saw a number of blue flashes. Guessing power transformers blowing here in NE Palm Beach County.
And I just lost power . . .

Wow. Hurricane in Orlando is now. Very strong winds. Lots of trees down.

I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT. PLEASE CONSULT SOMEONE WHO DOES. START WITH THE NHC. ALL POSTS ARE FOR ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSES ONLY.
Re: ATL: MILTON - Hurricane - Discussion: Makes landfall near Siesta Key in Sarasota county / 120 mph
NHC still has this at 75 kt and 977 mb and we're 8 hours after landfall. Was Milton expected to stay this strong for such a long time after landfall? Maybe I was just too focused on the initial landfall location/intensity, but I expected Milton to wind down faster. Does it have to do with the extra-tropical transition NHC was talking about earlier?

The wind is really kicking right now. We just had a gust of 64. I haven’t seen this much wind since Matthew.

Pretty good blow for us in Orlando. (Nothing compared to Tampa/St Pete though) Still kicking good, still seeing transformers blowing but we still have power surprisingly. I saw a report of 86 mph at the airport so that would make this the strongest hurricane to hit us since Charlie (105mph in ‘04.)

yes they have consistently called for it to remain a hurricane all the way across the peninsula.eastcoastFL wrote:kevin wrote:NHC still has this at 75 kt and 977 mb and we're 8 hours after landfall. agreed. No tree on my house and we still have power means we’re doing good at my place!eastcoastFL wrote:otowntiger wrote:Pretty good blow for us in Orlando.
