Re: Texas Fall 2024
Feels great! Had windows open for some time now.
That being said, shouldn't normalize warmth. It feels cooler because it's been so warm for so long but we're still running above average, clouds help. Normal is nights should be in the 40s consistently and daytime in the 60s. We're going to remain above normal the next ~7 days.
And truth be told there still isn't significant modelling of cold either. Just some transient longer range stuff that hasn't materialized. Shots of fronts for sure to keep it close to normal at times with chances of rain, but nothing that sticks out like a sore thumb. ENS keep a cool west/warm east set up. It's been fantasy range that gets interesting but only a run or two then poof.

Honestly we may have a frontal passage every 7 days or so, the east coast is gonna get baked do to a strong SE ridge, but I think texas gets rounds of cooler air and unsettled weather for probably the rest of november, ensembles really lock in the -PNA over the eastern US , we will see how much of a player that is in winter

When our trusted long range guy is pessimistic about at least a colder November, all hope is lost for me. Sniff

We'll be alright! It doesn't look like a torch or anything, we'll be on the eastern edge of the interior western trough, just enough to keep things in check. Just not seeing anything cold to kick off a freeze for climo.

Some 20-40" of snow in northern New Mexico quite the storm out there. And this isn't even the mountains in places like Las Vegas and Clayton.

Saw some videos of people driving their Deere tractors through the snow up there. Must say not surprised

Summer's for hibernation, Winter’s my vacation
Don't use my posts as forecast, I'm a complete meteorology noob! I just like cold weather, alright?
All observations I post are for Temple, Texas unless otherwise stated.

Historic snow mentioned....I mean you would think eventually something gives right?
Tbh winter in November has done us no good anyway. I mean yes it could be cooler for sure but I don't want extreme cold yet

I think the Winter thread might start out with a bang. Euro Weeklies starting to hint at something around mid-Dec for North Texas.

Do tell.. I keep wondering if we will be stepping down this season or if it will be a sudden shut-off of warmth and drop off a cliff to cold.

Up to .76 IMBY for November, so at least I got some more rain. Still much less than expected.

Lagreeneyes03 likely a step down, its going to be a slow process to occur, need to get rid of the pesky aleutian trough over alaska, thats is just one key player that needs to change,m

Well we did get hit by a hurricane down here this summer so snow in December wouldn’t surprise me.

Re: Texas Fall 2024
Cpv17 i remember when harvey hit, and we had a couple of good snow events in 2018 following harvey, it really is interesting that it seems like every time a tropical system has hit texas over the past 7-10 years, we have seen at least 1-2 winter weather events during that proceeding winter, could just be extreme luck or maybe their actually is a correlation between texas tropical system impacts and potential snow/ winter weather lol
