Three hit by lightning in freak storm

Johannesburg's emergency services personnel said that two people had been killed and another seriously injured following a lightning strike in the Little Falls area of Roodepoort just before 4pm on Sunday.

Divisional commander Malcolm Midgley, speaking for emergency services, said the three people were together at the time of the storm when they were hit by the lightning. No further details were available. - Sapa
