What most likely is happening is that the roads were just at or above freezing, then thermodynamics - the snow and sleet exchange heat with the asphalt, and it congeals into ice. Very dangerous!

Another heavy radar return moving through Tarrant county, will clip western Dallas county.

Just go to ImgBB.com, upload and copy the picture (it should say .jpg or .PNG at the end) and use the image button and paste the link. Usually the quickest and easiest way to do it :)

Snow in Texas, 8th wonder of the World

Don't use my posts as forecast; I'm not a licensed meteorologist! I just endorse cold weather, alright?

All observations I note are for Temple, Texas unless otherwise stated.

I don't really snow what northerners would consider heavy snow, but it's coming down at a good rate in Rockwall. Nice big flakes. Very pretty to watch. But I have to do work too. :(

Obviously a nowcast event, but HRRR signaling where heaviest totals will be...just north of DFW where its all snow now. Added RAP model also
