Everyone will be in for a treat tonight.

This is the all-nighter that has been discussed.

FW NWS office continues to increase snow totals on their latest update....I bet they aren't done yet!!

Snowfall totals were increased again. Event totals will be
between 2" and 6" along and north of I-20. There is still
potential for some banded or convective snowfall which could
result in isolated totals around 8". This is most likely to
occur anywhere from the northern parts of the Metroplex to the
Red River over toward Paris.

For some, can go from 1" today to 4-6+ quickly in the right bands. I hope the transition is quick for those in the south to get into the action and east TX.

Mix of snow and rain in Heath. It's 33 degrees - need that to drop a few.

Even though we are all rain here, it is still 32.7 degrees. SO much precip still to come! C'mon temps....DROP!

I just noticed I am now at 32 again, so it appears we reached our high, so that should slow the slush melting and provide a more frozen base for later snow tonight.

Also, my station is reporting wind has switched to the NE from the SE earlier.

34° here in Round Rock but just rain. Not complaining because we desperately need the rain. But we ended up oh-so-close in the temperature department.

So does he actually have a degree in meteorology or did he go there and not finish? My dad won't stop talking about him.....

Technically, no.

He has a Masters of Science in Geosciences with a concentration in Applied Meteorology...

It's the equivalent of getting a MBA with a concentration in, say, Finance...

Sun’s going down so temps should be dropping quick soon (more chance for winter precip). The sleet/ice pellets mixing into the rain here are really really tiny, upper air around here probably not cool enough still

Hope the rest of the metro can make the transition before that plume west of Waco makes its way in. If so, accumulations are gonna get laid down quickly

The HRRR has done remarkably well today in nailing precip types. I just hope we see the transition back to all snow happen faster!

Getting another round of large flakes here. Looks like we got about 2.5-3 inches.
