Looks like 1.6" so far at DFW Airport. Need .8" more to tie the daily record.

Latest HRRR says that is a lock. We should start seeing the transition back to sleet/snow and then all snow over the next hour or two.

Heavy snow/sleet moving thru in a couple of hours, 2” plus rates/hour . Some of it maybe sleet but DGZ is about to go ballistic regardless

I just come back from measuring, 4.5 inches, but it's possibly higher because of reports of 6 inches around me.

29*F, what a storm!

Please let that verify, Dallas needs a win after being so close but missing out on a lot of the good stuff the northern burbs have gotten.

Dry air evaporating the precip

With a dewpoint 1 deg below the current temp?

Precip looks to largely move east of 35 in 6-7 hours. Would have been nice to get more rain down here, but we'll take what we can get.

Yep, dry slot is getting filled in pretty quickly. My temp and dewpoint now sit at 32.4F/30.6F. Both continue to slowly drop. Moderate rain is falling. Some kind of evaporative cooling going on now? How long will it last? Will temps go back up overnight at all?

Lots of questions. Still walking a fine line here.

I think that can be caused by melting snow showing up on radar.

:cold: :froze:

Still got a long way to go if we're getting that 4-6 inches but that was about the heaviest I've seen it just now

Yes, and this should allow for less moderation of temps.

The radar shield is coming in VERY RAPIDLY to DFW. This may end before midnight. Maybe 2 hours of heavy snow.

Yeah I think south Grand Prairie is out on this round. Oh well plenty of winter left. I did see some snow today but just a tease.
