I recall one storm a few years ago where I had to do that, and it didn't go well. But, once it kicks out it should force it to switch for at least a bit.

Though looking at the radar....it may be too late. Yikes. Rather big bust on the back end if true.

Snow coming to an end here. Ended up with 6-7" and I was expecting 2”. I’ll consider it a win.

There is still enough moisture southwest east of San Angelo that will come northward, just need to be snow when it comes and recovery, I was just noting my numbers may not work out and need a hail Mary!

Haha. We’re running out of time, unless that vort up in Amarillo decides to head this way. It’s funny, I threw the towel in because of the warm nose and I was in one of the few places where it wasn’t a factor this morning. But looking at everyone else, this was a brutal rug pull. I was hoping for everyone to cash in tonight but unless something else shows up, we are toast by 10 or 11 pm.

It switched to snow all of 5 minutes now back to sleet. 32.5 degrees and 98% humidity cranked out .75 inches of rain today

Even though it's been mostly rain in Rockwall this afternoon and evening, it was cool watching the snow this morning. I won't complain. And I'm probably one of the few who like the cold temps too. I despise the heat that summer brings. Lived all my life in the South, grew up in NOLA and I would love to move to a more temperate climate. And that's why we're seriously looking to retire in Colorado Springs.

Next shot of cold air should be colder than this one.

I spent yesterday trying to prepare my kids not to see snow until tonight. So, the unexpected heavy snow this morning was like Christmas to them, and they had a blast playing in it. I thought that was setting us up for the big one, but for any other setup, we would all be thrilled with a couple of hours and 3" of big fat flakes.

Back on after son's baseball practice (indoors thankfully), looks like a combo of precip ending early and stubborn warm nose will prevent anything but a sunrise dusting as it erodes as precip ends. Can hope for a miracle but don't see much of an avenue for that.

You can see the 850/700mb front by the wind surge just west of Tarrant county. The area to the southwest of qpf should match it and grow. Lets see if we can pull this through!

Yeah one big thing I noticed here today was how most of the event the roads were wet
