That shows over 12 in for me. Is that correct as of right now. I know things can change.

What I like seeing is the GFS going from positive to near neutral tilt of the 500mb trough as it swings from Texas into LA/MS. This is beginning to pump up the snowfall numbers in our neck of the woods. The precip already looked good for Texas, but was a little more scant to the east. Crazy as it sounds, it looks similar to what the Canadian has been showing at the 500mb level. Hope that continues!

12Z GFS matches very closely to my thoughts on this system. A general 3-6" from Central TX to SE and E TX with a Deep E TX bulls eye of 6"+. Decent accumulations along I20 and a mix along I10.

When you mention I20 how far west are you talking? I live two miles north of 20 but will be driving back from Caddo Lake Monday evening, strait west on 20.

GFS now showing much colder temps following the snow. We don't get above 35 degrees until Friday  .

12z CMC came down with the amounts a little this time, but still significant. The difference is the tilt of the trof this run was more positively tilted.

Ample moisture, plenty cold, strong lift associated with the coastal low, would I be shocked if someone in the se texas region saw a foot or more of snow? No i wouldn’t at all, the setup is about as amazing as it gets, makes you wonder what fhe short range guidance may show if the globals are spitting out these very impressive snow totals

wouldn't worry too much about amounts at this point, follow the QPF coverage, shows you where the best lift/moisture is located. GFS and CMC now much better aligned...if Euro looks similar, confidence increases substantially in a widespread Winter Storm across the south!

I can live with these numbers they will likely be a tad higher but something would be better than nothing.

Yeah clearly someone is gonna have a historic storm here. I mean you don't get runs like this every winter

And yes i knew days ago it wasn't our storm but we had ours last week and I'm sure we'll get another one with everyone talking about the pattern continuing. I know a lot of people back east so it'll be interesting to see what happens over there

The GFS may be caving towards the CMC. Also compared to last nights 0z run from the GFS the gulf low has now shifted 200+ miles to the north.

Just announced schools have closed until next Thursday here in Lafayette. Locals meteorologists using the terms unprecedented and "once in a life-time" event. Going to be a long weekend of model watching and preparations!
