Are you brave enough to.....

#1 Postby Guest » Sun Nov 23, 2003 11:36 pm

Who here is planning to brave the stores the day after Thanksgiving? The deals are a dream come true, but are the lines worth it?

Me personally, I think the deals are definitely worth it. But this year I got a great head start and only have a few items to go, so I'm forgoing the day after Thanksgiving sales. You?

There's no way I will fight the traffic and all the people just to save a couple of bucks!

No way for me - but this year I have to work the day after thanksgiving so I don't have to worry about fighting the crowds and insanity.

I've never done it in as far back as I can remember. I may have gone with my mom when I was younger, but for me, shoppng with her used to be a chore anyway, so I don't recall if it was the DAT or not. I've said that I want experience it at least once (and remember it). So if I can drag my tired, overly-turkey-stuff, overly-football-watched body out of bed early on Friday, I'll be there. :)

No shopping before we see how much we have left after the December bills are paid.

My daughter just called me & wanted to know if I wanted to go shopping & meet them at the a.m. I have never shopped the day after Thanksgiving, and I don't ever want to in the future, can't even imagine , that'd be right up there with fear factor, imo

Me and C (my wife) always hit the stores at 6AM the day after. Stores like Best Buy have some incredible sales like last years DVD player (an extra we put in the bedroom) for $39.

It's festive, its crazy, and we look forward to it.

Well, let's see I'm 75% done now. Might even close to 80%! I've been shopping since last February. So I would be brave enough to venture out the day after Thanksgiving but I'd be miserable. Hate crowds! So I voted no. I'd much rather do something else. On the local news weary shoppers are always featured later in the day. And they always have 4 or so huge shopping bags with them. They like to brag they set their alarms and were at the Mall by 6 a.m. Sounds crazy to me, but hey if they're game, more power to them!

There is nothing like the rush of people at Christmas time!! I may be the minority here (what's new- lol- I like to be different!) but I am a die-hard shopper, and there is no better time to go than when you can be getting something someone else wants!!

Jacki - you'd be in good company with my daughter Nina. She's 16 and loves to shop with friends when she has time. She can shop and shop and then shop some more. Looks for bargains though now, I taught her that at least. She wears me out shopping......LOL

I get my girls new xmas ornaments each year. Nina's this year is perfect for her - one that has a girl with long blond flowing hair, titled Born to Shop, with a coat hanger below. On the coat hanger are several things: a credit card, money, a diamond, and a sale item I think. When her sister saw it, Laura said - Mom, that's so Nina! Sounds as if this ornament would be your style too.

I've gone the last two years and will be going again this year. Believe it or not the lines and crowds aren't that bad where I go. It's lots of fun, though. Put's you in the spirit of the holidays!!!

Yes it definitely puts you in the spirit. The music, the ligths, the deocrations, the people.... Can't believe it's this time of year again!

I used to be more tolerant of crowds when I was younger. The last few years I have noticed I get really panicky in a large crowd. I just can't seem to get into it. Last year I did most of my shopping online and am doing the same this year.

Weather permitting, I will start hanging the outside Christmas lights on that day. And will hopefully finish the next day. I will leave the shopping to those who enjoy it (i.e. my wife, her friends and her sisters).
