Still getting graupel with some snow mixed in, but humidity is slowly increasing. Hopefully us I-35 folk get something!

Snow in Texas, 8th wonder of the World

Don't use my posts as forecast; I'm not a licensed meteorologist! I just endorse cold weather, alright?

All observations I note are for Temple, Texas unless otherwise stated.

It is sleeting at the Rain Cave. My heat lamp doesn't seem to be working. I'm not sure exactly when it started but I checked just before 8 pm.

So it looks like the white stuff is reaching the ground further north than was expected?

Your dgz is very low to the ground near 850mb and lower so snow is being made closer to the surface than normal. Once it gets going, it can be persistent though light.

Maybe I'll get a little good news tonight. Near Tyler, TX 20/% chance of light snow tonight. At this point I would be happy to see some steady flakes fall with no accumulation even.

Forgive my ignorance, but what does that mean? I use RadarScope too, but just for rain. I can't figure out how to make it show wintry precipitation.

Any reports out of Kaufman or Van Zandt counties? Looks like could be some decent stuff between Mesquite and Van.
