Ensembles are in very good agreement on a pretty chilly / cold pattern in the medium-long term coming up

AO is very negative and PNA positive, above normal warmth won't have any space for awhile.

This game is so trash. Super Bowls aren’t supposed to be blowouts.

I thought this Super Bowl was awesome! :ggreen:

Congrats to the Eagles! :flag:

The worst since the Eagles last won a few years ago.

Yeah, well I really don’t like either team so I don’t really give 2 cents who wins this game, but it would be nice to see a decent game.

Make no mistake about it. Both teams are unlikeable in their own ways and it was the worst possible SB matchup. Philly fans are beyond insufferable.

That said, I really wanted to see the Chiefs be humbled (for so many reasons both legitimate and petty).

Roller coaster type pattern may continue beyond this week (especially for areas further south into the state where intermittent warmups possible) but everything looks manageable overall. Nothing earth shattering that models like CMC once again falsely advertised a few days ago (shocker).

Yep.

Typical winter weather for Texas...

And frankly, I'd rather we get all of this seasonably cool and dreary weather out of the way now, so we can have another stellar March / April like the past 2-3 years.

Need that next cold front soon, the mosquitoes are getting to an unbearable level, that shouldnt be happening in february, id rather it be 20 below zero than have another day getting close to 90 degrees

Yeah unfortunately this the kind of weather (sudden temp changes day to day) that may keep folks under the weather longer. Nasty flu season this year.

txtwister78 yeah these temperature swings are really wrecking havoc on peoples immune systems, heck my mom said at her school almost a quarter of the staff with some students
are out sick with the flu right now, going from 30-40 degrees to the mid 80’s definitely will make most sick

Yup. Schools being hit hard right now with flu here too. Hopefully that levels down soon.

Texas Winter 2024-2025

#7953 Postby jasons2k » Mon Feb 10, 2025 2:47 pm

There’s been a lot of chatter about busted temperature forecasts with these fronts. Well today my official forecast high was 67 and at 1:30 I’m already up to 73 and climbing.
It feels great outside. Lots of folks out dog walking, etc. What a wonderful day to soak in a little sun and the nice breeze. It’s an added bonus that’s it’s February and this nice. No complaints here.

This evening, I’ll be putting down my pre-emergent before the rain moves in. I wanted to put it down last weekend but my local Ace Hardware didn’t have Nitro-Phos in-stock yet. It’s a little late if you ask me but I don’t control their inventory or schedule.

With our warmer climate, the Nitro-Phos (the old Randy Lemmon) lawn schedule for Houston is a good baseline but it needs to shift about a month sooner in the spring, add an extra month in the fall, and just pretend January doesn’t exist and that’s about right.

My computer weather app says prepare for "2-4 inches of snow" Thursday with a high of 38. Lol. Must get its data from the CMC.

I had a real bad case of *SOMETHING* last week. I'm thinking it was the flu as well (didn't go to the doctor), but it had me fairly incapacitated for a few days.

I'm 95% better, but still feeling some residual effects

Assuming this is the GRAF model but Euro has showed this on the past few runs as well. Nothing major but worth watching if temps trend a little colder Thursday morning.

Yep, there's a jet streak/impulse that some of the models have been showing producing light wintry precip Thursday. Worth watching just in case.

I'm in OKC and that would be a bust here (except for the temps)!

I'm still curious about Wednesday. I mean yes everyone says its trending warmer but the models were so off last week

Not to mention both of Tulsa's snows so far this winter have been an overperforming surprise. Can we go for three? :spam:

And it's official, check Google Maps and look to the Gulf.

So now we're tracking hurricanes in the Gulf of America :flag:
