Radar seems to have most of the readable precip right east of DFW, so should we be spared of the heavier impacts?

Re: Texas Winter 2024-2025
Dry air is apparently keeping our totals on the low end. People calling bust here
Although we still have 5-6 hours to go and I have around an inch with the sun getting lower in the sky. I dunno
its reminding me of January a lot when the snow escalated at sunset

According to what reference? If by the models yesterday yes, you are a bit ahead of schedule getting to freezing.
All this to say I am intrigued what happens tonight as the upper level feature crosses by. Lakes!

NWS downplaying road impacts means schools likely won’t cancel for DFW. Darn.

Looks like things are over performing here.Getting moderate snow from the lower levels it barely shows up on radar. And the main band is not even here yet.

Yes, models I guess from yesterday.
Sure is cold outside.

Sherman/Denison area just broke the 32 mark and still a very heavy blowing drizzle. Could get interesting soon!

I don't know. Everything is wet obviously with mist still falling. We are a few degrees from freezing. Won't take long for ice here in a few hours. Makes me a little nervous about this evening and tomorrow morning.

IMO, once this light precip ends, the winds will be more than enough to dry out everything that’s not a puddle.

You can catch the light north to south bands at the low levels but it's very subtle on radar. It's so close to the surface layers where snow is being made. If only you had a big lake to the north!
If you have radarscope switch to precipitation depiction.

I've definitely seen worse busts here
I think we just hyped it up too much with the historic totals that's the biggest issue

Brent, the radar’s really looking good to your sw for the next few hours.

Summer's for hibernation, Winter’s my vacation
Don't use my posts as forecast, I'm a complete meteorology noob! I just like cold weather, alright?
All observations I post are for Temple, Texas unless otherwise stated.

Really interesting considering little if any radar reflectivity up there

Yeah I dunno I think the bust talk is premature especially with the sun going down
Unless people are really believing we would get 8-12 inches. I never really did
Heck I've been here barely 4 years and I've seen some busts where it never even snowed this much
