The Katy area is in the low 40’s now as is most of Metro Houston at this point.

Pretty rare that it gets this cold while businesses and schools all remain open and using all the power they use. More precip and they would have been closed and using far less energy.

This is really crazy how cold it's been here.. I mean March is next weekend? And we only 2 inches of snow which was honestly pretty pathetic for us and yet the usual spots that melt at my apartment still haven't even really melted with full sun all day  :froze:

We didn't even go below zero apparently Tulsa only got down to 2 degrees

Anyone have any GRAF modeling on potential ice tonight?

GRAF is primarily used by local TV meteorologist so it's not as readily available outside of that for public viewing/use even on the paid weather sites.

Other models have this beginning as early as 10AM tomorrow morning (very light mist or frz drizzle) across Bexar County but most show this picking up a bit in coverage between 4-6 PM stretching into the evening and overnight hours ending by noon Saturday before turning into a cold rain/drizzle. Waiting on the 0z short range guidance to come in but NWS says don't be surprised if a Winter Weather Advisory is eventually issued.

Watching temp trends tonight into the morning basically.

Hopefully it’s over I’m tired of being sick. Love winter weather but it’s a waste if it’s just dry cold. Bring on the spring storms.

It’s all about getting proper sleep and keeping your immune system strong. I’m a big believer in Zinc.

Same, I'm ready for humidity, the smell of rain, thunder, and watching my storm chaser livestreams on YouTube

Are you sensitive to mountain cedar or possibly grown sensitive to it? Have you noticed spikes of sniffling and just generally crappy feeling during warm periods this winter? It bothers me every winter and have learned to manage it.

Just looked on RadarScope and I think I see what you’re referring to. I see some drizzle showing up south of San Antonio over to Cuero. Hard to say if it’s evaporating before the ground or not. Worth keeping an eye on it.

That may be what it is I have had to routinely use nasal spray this winter never before been a thing for me.

HRRR is becoming just a little more bullish on this event and brings in some frz drizzle in the morning hours. Temps start out in the morning below freezing but hold steady around 32-33 degrees most of the day before dropping a degree or two again in the evening. Definitely a bigger problem for elevated bridges/overpasses (elevated prolonged cold road temps) especially for the drive home commute across the metros.

The season almost always kicks off around Christmas and goes through Feb. The region pollen count will spike to high levels when a warm S/SW wind coming from the hill country and people often mistake it for a persistent months long cold etc that keeps coming back. I'm no doctor, but tests can help figure it out from an allergist.

It's mountain cedar and yes the wind orientation makes all the difference. I had one terrible day on a warm Sunday about a month ago. Luckily rain/fronts have contributed to a reduction of that devil pollen. For me it has passed. Next up is seasonal blooming and the pollen associated with that. Not as severe as mountain cedar but can be terrible nonetheless.

Something that was not mentioned earlier but a Winter Weather Advisory for a light glaze of ice is in effect tonight into early tomorrow down in the LRGV region.
