Radar velocities looked impressive with 70+ all over me, but frankly, it didn't sound all that windy. Mabe 40-50.

Not that I'm complaining. Well, maybe I would like to get my roof replaced in the next month before insurance goes up to the 2 percent deductible. But, otherwise...

I need to figure out why my weather station didn't record any rain. Should have had around an inch here. The rest of the station was working.

Wow this dust storm is legit. Sky looks eerie and the wind is insane. Could have an interesting sunset if it can clear a bit later.

It's not vast looking far back, Mineral Wells is back up to 10 mile visibility so just behind the initial surge is the dust storm. 1 mile visibility at Meacham, 3 at DFW airport currently, and 5 in Denton.

It's actually cleared up quite a bit. Lost a lot of the tint, just normal partly cloudy again.

And in all fairness, I suppose the dust wouldn't have been as pleasing to the eye without the contrast against the Stratocumulus.

I left West Texas partly due to the dust storms out there (no, I won't use the newfangled term for them that's popular).

OUN is saying this afternoon that temps will be marginal with the system this Saturday, but heavy precip rates may allow a changeover to snow. For now they're going with a slight chance of rain/snow Saturday. It will be interesting to see what the mesoscale models show.

Okay this is ugly. The sky went from clear to ugly dull grayish brown. The sun is out but dust is coating everything. Downtown has basically faded into the haze. Some trees have fallen in the Austin area. I had to bypass a fallen tree in the road on my way back home. So much for the car wash earlier today.
