I am sure this was already covered, but the second kid who was Subway Surfing and hit his head has died.

I lost a very dear friend of mine 3 years ago to something very similar. He was standing on top of a train at the train station (we used to go to a club they had at the station) He grabbed onto the electic lines to stop himself from falling off, but ended up electrocuting himself to death... A horrible experience to witness... I still cant get over how stupid he was to have jumped up there in the first place...

We all do stupid things when we are young (sometimes even when we are older). Unfortunately for them it was fatal.

Kids will do stupid things like this, assuming all will be well. They are invincible at this age. Sad that this stunt had a fatal outcome. Once they can walk and talk, and know better than to run out in the middle of the street, parents relax a bit. They know Johnny won't stick his finger in an outlet, run with knives, or touch a hot stove. But it's when they get older and have some freedom, they get talked into things like this that parents need to be worried. I've always told my kids to say no if something sounds dangerous, even if they're getting teased. Better to be alive and teased, than to die. Same goes for leaving a car with a drunken driver - I've told them to lie thru their teeth, say they want out of that car, they're going to puke or something, and then call me. I will always - always - come get them. All of that said, I know my girls will be tested and tested some more. You just need to keep reminding them, when they're listening to pay attention to that little voice in their heads. We all have that voice that tells us something isn't right.
Sad, sad story this one was. You sure feel for those parents.

Last year, one of the electricians who works for our company was killed because he was running late for work and tried to beat a train coming. I was the last person who spoke to him because he had called in late that morning and never arrived to the jobsite that day. I don't know if the safety arms didn't come down or what but he got hit.
I worked with him on several projects over the years and he was always so cool and laid back, like nothing ever phased him. I never thought he would ever do something like that. People just don't think anything bad is going to happen to them.
