It's been interesting having cool mornings in inland SFL, giving way to afternoon temps well into the 80s. Usually don't see those kinds of temperature swings.

What a storm that was. Lake Okeechobee. Started out as a towering cumulus, before sunset, grew to an impressive lightning barrage after sunset.

Not quite. Models are trending to show a frontal passage late Monday/Tuesday, and a second front around Friday/Saturday. Upper air support and surface advection should bring Central Florida temps back to U50's-low 60's at night and mid 70's for highs. Cooler for N. Fla, and at least not as warm for S. Fla.
The best part would be any welcome rain that any of us might get.

Had to blow my own horn as no one else here would. Back on the 17th It did not seem a risky self forecast from me. I had my doubts once the heat kicked in. We could possibly see two fronts clearing the state in the next week. Of course they don't pack much punch this time of year but it IS still happening.

The Gulf of Mexico has warmed up greatly and is more normal or even slightly above. About swim time I think.

This pattern we are stuck in managed to dry up our lake in the back of our house to just an empty hole.i don’t think this pattern is going to change anytime soon.Hopefully by June will get a tropical wave a depression to dump rain on us.

Does that occur most years just prior to rainy season? The small lake behind my house is very low but this occurs each year during the rainy season. I will add, that it does appear slightly lower than typical but not beyond that (yet). Our pattern has been pretty stagnant. It's a trade-off. Right now the Central Florida temperatures range from mild nights to warm, but low humidity days. The rain itself will be refreshing once rainy season begins, but with it comes the mosquitoes and oppressive heat and humidity.

Too early to say if rainy season will begin mid-May, late-May, early or mid June but I typically expect the rains to start between May 15 - 25. If I'm not mistaken, last year's rainy season started quite late however.

One thing is for sure.... us Floridians DON'T seem to be in any hurry for the 2025 Hurricane Season to begin

With June 1 quickly approaching, I havnt seen that many new S2K member/guest Hurricane Poll predictions during the last two weeks. I wonder if that's because it just doesn't "feel" like Hurricane Season is right around the corner, or because us Floridians are simply numb from recent year Hurricane threats & impact to the state?

we definitely need rain but other than that this weather pattern is exactly why spring is my favorite time of the year hands down. Endless warm sunny days with humidity very much in check..i would happily take this weather year around if possible. we have had quite a few record highs (i don't recall so many 90 degree days in April ever) but because the humidity is down it's a kind and gentle 90...unlike what's coming. As for the looming hurricane season...I'm enjoying the off season...every single moment of it...and suspect many others are as well.

The weather has been lovely but boy am I ready for some rain soon. Our pond is drying up fast and the gators are getting restless. Holes the fish built a few weeks ago to lay eggs are now dried up dirt, it's sad to see. Hopefully we get some rain soon and mother nature doesn't have to over correct during hurricane season.

Was shocked to look outside my window this afternoon and see heavy rain - managed 0.60 inches at my house this afternoon in Clearwater. Unlike yesterday where the rain was limited to along I-75, the immediate coastal counties got in on the action before it moved out into the Gulf. Sadly this is it for a while since it was just the moisture from a decaying front.
