Definitely not fun, get hit once with even the hail you will never want it again. If it holds together looks expensive and dangerous.

Tornado warning for Wichita Falls, also destructive severe warning for 80mph winds. Absolute beast

This storm is crazy! Its like being in the eyewall of a hurricane. Which I've experienced a few times being from Houston. I'm also completely flooded in now. Definitely on the top 10 list of strongest storm I've been in.

What is causing that storm to go so crazy up there?

But, I won’t get excited until tomorrow because too often we have something go wrong.

CAMs are all over the place in terms of scenarios, so I'm not exactly feeling confident.

EDIT: It's never easy for us.

And the 00z CAMs were even worse, lol...

Might as well just throw a dart and see where it lands...

The SPC is only a slight risk tomorrow so seems like the hype is overblown.

Will see.

Enhanced risk upgrade with 10# tornado area added for Dallas and east. Certainly not surprised after looking at 0z models

06z CAMs give a bit more clarity, indicating a one-and-one squall line around midday/early afternoon (most likely from the current QLCS west of Wichita Falls).

Storms will likely be sub-severe though due to extensive cloud cover and surface temps only in the low/mid 70s. The messy storm mode should also keep tornado threat in check.

That said, with a decent amount of elevated instability, hail and flash flood threat still seems legit.

3 km NAM late afternoon forecast sounding as a supercell pops almost directly over San Antonio. You never know, it could happen. All severe modes possible if this verifies, including very large hail.

The enhanced risk looks to be a joke then.

DFW will likely see a line of storms move through later this morning and into the afternoon. 1-2 inches of rain could be widespread. Maybe for once our DFW posters will be happy...daytime storms that bring widespread rainfall.

What are your thoughts on the severity? I'm not seeing any potential mesoscale discussions thus far to extend a watch further east. And the line just seems to be some decent rain and maybe some small hail. What are we missing?

I am asking in terms of the DFW metroplex

For DFW yes, but maybe not so much further east, where they'll have more time for surface instability to build.

After reading met updates on FB, My guess is the enhanced will be for any strengthening south and east of the metro but they had to be cautious and include DFW.

I’m sure an outflow will get kicked off that removes any risk for DFW as usual.

This complex looks to mainly hit the northern areas as well.

So, good rain for DFW I hope.

Tornadoes SE of the metro.

Basically what always happens. Don’t want a tornado across DFW anyway.

The line looks like it should be strong to possibly severe. Some small hail and heavy rain is likely, along with some gusty winds.
