The line to the north and the stuff coming in from the west is congealing a bit, darn. Fingers crossed most wind reports are on the lower end.

The stuff to the north doesn't really have much blue. I guess we'll have to wait and see how this all pans out.
I've got my stuff ready

I have family in Albany and they are being absolutely pummeled right now. The videos they are sending are insane.

Re: Texas Summer 2025
Apparently it's going to miss me just to the east.
Hope everyone stays safe.
This is some crazy winds reports I'm hearing in the scanner.

Apparently the Denton storm has spotter confirmed 80 mph winds. Radar only shows 50. I am skeptical.

That's what I was looking at too, I'm not seeing anything above nearly what the reports are coming in.
And being that we're so close to the Radar Site you think you get some really good accurate readings.

Unless it fills in more looks like GP might get spared the worst. I35E and east is the big stuff.

Re: Texas Summer 2025
DFW dodged another one it would appear. Radar looks manageable. NWS new warning has lowered wind threat to 65 mph and even that looks high end with that line moving in. Good news.

Was there supposed to be this kind of backbuilding to the west? Several more warnings between Lubbock and Abilene. Is this going to ramp back up overnight?

Re: Texas Summer 2025
That west cell is moving fairly east so it might hit southern DFW and has been more intense all along. Will see... The SPC seems to point out that cell as the most likely derecho candidate.

Re: Texas Summer 2025
Pretty uneventful here in Southern Collin County. Winds weren't even as bad as a typical afternoon storm. Looks like we ended up making out pretty good with gusts maybe pushing 35 mph IMBY.

Winter time post are almost exclusively focused on the DFW area.

I'm loving this rain for the lawn and landscaping. Looks like enough backing on radar for a good soaker.

Re: Texas Summer 2025
Scenario #2 from FWD's AFD ended up panning out.
That said, despite the hype, this was still a solid severe weather event with many areas seeing 60-70 MPH wind gusts.

Re: Texas Summer 2025
Southern portions of dfw may not be out of the woods yet on the wind threat. That surge near weatherford looks to be moving due east. Probably will miss most of the metro to the south anyway, but still worth watching especially if you live just south of Dallas and Ft Worth
