Models show a rainy pattern up here starting next week as a weakness develops from a stalled frontal boundary. Not set in stone yet though. Love to see the temps not going overboard for once lol.

First round was a glancing blow so it didn't cool off much, but just had another more direct hit.

This one finally cooled us into the low 70s. I will take it for late June.

Got a quick half inch.

I've been enjoying the consistent sea breeze push that comes in in the late afternoon/early evening that even if you don't get rain from, it cools things off a bit.

Besides that, models are pretty quiet for most of southern/central/northern/east Texas for the next couple of weeks.

Not even the GFS ensembles shows the storm getting near Texas there is over half an inch in 5 days on the mean rainfall. I suspect most of that is seabreeze related. The hit and miss storms hit Monday, and yesterday, kind of (we had hours of light to moderate rain yesterday afternoon on the periphery of a thunderstorm) and the shade provided by the anvil of the storm to my NW means I'm pretty satisfied with natural lawn care this week.

Next week in Montreal, first on an airplane trip for my wife and I since the 2000s. My car stays parked outdoors, rumors of rain and Saharan Dust together to dirty up my car.

Would be curious to know if that's ever happened since official records have been kept. Probably, but definitely seems very rare. A wet spring/early summer for DFW would be the most likely scenario for this.

It is rare because Boston only has a few dozen 100+ temperatures in its weather history. But it did happen in 2021. Boston hit 100 on June 30 and DFW didn’t get there until July 25.

We had a heat index of 108 earlier but more heavy rain tonight

Gonna be one of the wettest June's ever

And yeah we still haven't been close to 100 air temperature yet. That 2021 analog isn't looking too terrible right now

Most of Texas looks to stay pretty dry for the foreseeable future. We may start seeing some 100s in the 2nd week of July.

Doesn't look dry over here at least. Models show a very wet pattern for July standards here with a weakness in place this week. Models show another weakness possibly developing towards the middle of the month up here. But that's too far out so i wont speculate on that yet lol.

Storms moving in at the moment, should cool the temps down this evening.

Wettest start to the year since 1973 here :double:

That's the only year we haven't beaten

1973 is also one of the very few years we failed to hit 100

Looks like the outflow got too far out ahead of the rain to carry it into DFW but we got a brief little shower. This is the time of year where I don’t follow the weather very closely and so it’s usually a surprise when it rains.

West Texas looking to have a very wet start to July. We need it! Would be great to lose our drought designation before the heat gets here.

Overall the models (and forecasts) have not performed greatly medium to long term. Heat spells have not verified and temps remain a little lower than projected some days out. Was supposed to be 96-100 for July 4th holiday but will more likely be 90-95.
