Texas Summer 2025

The next few weeks look mostly dry and hot across much of the state. Most areas will likely see less than 0.50 inch of rain through the rest of July, and a large part of TX should see highs reach near or above 100F. It's been a good start to summer here, but unfortunately all good things come to an end.

The only way we’ll probably get anything now is if it comes from the tropics.

While hotter than it has been, temps overall will still be around average (maybe *SLIGHTLY* above for North Texas). Can't complain about that at all after the past 2.5 Summers.

Yeah the next few days don't look too bad for this time of year. But by the 7-14 day time frame we could see above to well above normal temperatures for much of the state, especially north TX. The Euro (and it's ensemble mean) especially look brutal...has several days above 105F for DFW beginning next Friday.

Txtwister78 oh without a doupt next week looks pretty hot, especially for the northern half of the state, but still near normal- to slightly above normal odds of precipitation are favored for the Southern and SE half of the state , wonder why that is if you have a big ridge over the central us

Relative to this time of year, those precip norms are pretty low to start with but nonetheless that likely accounts for the possibility of a tropical wave that as you mentioned models have been hinting could impact the coastal region as it tracks westward late next week along the periphery of that high to the north.

Obviously nothing set in stone just yet regarding that but always have to watch these once they get out into the gulf.

The ridge next week as of now looks like a monster. 600dm+ in a wide region centered in the central plains and/or central Rockies. It's going to get HOT for many, it will take some time if we're going to see max potential for temperatures due to the humidity and recent wet soils, but man that is a cockroach beast of a ridge...
