Weird to say this in late July but is the front ahead of schedule? I despise the heat.

No sir. Another scorcher is expected across much of the state tomorrow. Probably the hottest day of the year so far in DFW tomorrow.

101F yesterday. Not sure the models (except maybe the Euro) or WPC QPF support very much rain this weekend for SETX although local news using an in house 'future cast' implying heavy rain.

Nice blob of rain passing through the Golden Triang

Looks like some widely scattered showers and a few pop up isolated storms possible both Friday and Saturday afternoon across portions of the state incuding SC TX.

Peak heating coupled with increased moisture courtesy of a inverted trough/weak boundary will help to generate these. Hit or miss type setup so hopefully folks who need some rain will cash in.

It has kind of flown under the radar, but WPC has placed the eastern half of DFW under a slight risk for flash flooding today.

Looks to be decent potential for nearly-stationary t'storms to develop late this afternoon and this evening with unusually high moisture values for early August. There's even up to 40% probs for 5"+ of rainfall and up to 60% probs for 3"+.

And obviously, with temps getting into the low/mid 90s, there will be the potential for microburst wind as well.

Flash flood warning issued now. 3 inches received on the north side of town.

Summer's for hibernation, Winter’s my vacation

Don't use my posts as forecast, I'm a complete meteorology noob! I just like cold weather, alright?

All observations I post are for Temple, Texas unless otherwise stated.
