As others mentioned active weather yesterday afternoon across the SC TX region with areas across the southern Hill Country picking up 2-3 inches of rain while amounts were more scattered across San Antonio but overall not bad considering the time of year.

Might see one more round on Monday before things begin to quiet down again and the heat/dry pattern settles back in.

Picked up another inch of rain this morning from a MCS. Brings my total to 2 inches since Friday. With up to 4 inches on the north side of WF, very nice totals especially for August.

Round 2 coming through now. It was warned going through Denton County, but has since been dropped. Still, pretty strong winds, frequent lighting and intense rainfall with it.

Nearby Arlington had 2 reported gusts of around 60 MPH, which seems more reasonable.

Very lucky it happened when it did. I think flights start leaving DFW at 5 am, but there are a few redeyes that arrive a little earlier.

Early August is peak summer. Equivalent to early Feb for winter. Get by this with 90s to 100 and consider it a win. Tame summer so far here, counting down till Fall. September is just around the corner..college football and NFL!

Pacific SSTA has increased over the summer season off the west coast. Ridging there has been favored and played a role in preventing a scorching summer. It will set shop again in the medium term. Will this continue into the Fall and Winter? Predominantly has connections to a -EPO with such a set up.
