Re: Texas Summer 2025
We had a quick 10 to 15 minutes storm that dumped .08 in of rain right over our house last night.

Starting on Monday, Austin has rain chances every day for a week. Is this a stalled cold front, or what's the weather system that will cause this?

Re: Texas Summer 2025
Decent thunderstorms Friday and Saturday, after a very dry beginning of August in my part of Houston. I say my part because there have been scattered sea breeze storms in the vicinity all month but none has passed over my yard. Until Friday.
Been average warmth because some of those random storms have come close enough to block the sun or drop some outflow.

Later in the week yes with respect to the stalled boundary. Early on in the week it's primarily going to be a result of the flow coming off the gulf bringing in tropical moisture/seabreeze activity as the ridge shifts west.
Overall a more active pattern across SC TX with perhaps a higher end chance of greater coverage as we move further into the week as a result of the boundary.

Re: Texas Summer 2025
Hit 100F here today. Hasn't been too many this year. Might only be the 2nd or 3rd one. Forecast to hit it Monday and Tuesday also, with Wednesday "only" 99F. There have been a lot of 98/99F days. So cool is a relative term. Better rain chances and slightly cooler temperatures return toward the end of the week. But I haven't been very lucky lately with the random spotty downpours.

There are some upper 50s lows for East Texas late next week in the 0Z GFS. Quite a system in the Midwest (mid 40s in Iowa).

No signs of any late season heat wave. Couple more days of seasonably hot, then eastern trough will knock temps down a little bit. Heights lower in the long range so we will gradually step down towards climo. Not sure we will see anymore 100s, could be done!
We can say summer 2025 has been a humid, and seasonably warm summer, with a lack of major heat waves. It has been more like a southeast summer in our state rather than a southwest one.

DFW has a decent chance of hitting 100 today and tomorrow, then that may be it.
Agreed on this summer not being bad at all. While still too hot for my liking, it could've been much worse and the periodic rain has been very nice.

Kind of annoying the rain patterns keep avoiding the immediate Metroplex.

102F in Longview today.
Struck a hit in downpour whack-a-mole though! 0.23". I'll take it. Really hope the 50% chances on Wednesday and Thursday strike too.

Anyone able to post an analysis of the thunderstorm over Rusk around 5:20pm? I was approaching Rusk from Palestine on US84 about 5:15-5:20pm and had to turn around because quarter size hail was cracking my windshield. Once I could stop i checked and the storm wasn't severe warned nor did it have a special weather statement. How did NWS SHV miss it?

The Euro and GFS are showing pretty good rain chances for next week into September for most of Texas.

I noticed that too, looks pretty wet starting late month. Maybe we will have a wet Fall this year.

7:30 near TC Jester and 1960 a thunderstorm rolled in. Quarter sized hail judging by photo less then 2 miles away at mis suegros, just rain at the house. Power flickered off and on a couple of times.
