BTW, in a rare occurence this season, DFW overachieved with a high of 100*F today.

That should make it 6 in total to likely close out the season.

That is nice. The flipside of that is it will increase odds of something tropical brewing in the GOM/Caribbean.

Potentially however if anything did deveop in the gulf, it would likely lift NE away from the Texas coastline as a result of frontal boundaries/troughs pushing that far south.

I still feel our attention needs to be directed at the pacific next week looking for anything that manages to develop off the coastline of Mexico for the potential of increased moisture over Texas.

A strong thunderstorm moved through this evening with some gusty winds and a lot of lightning. Dumped 1.14" at my house.

Fake fall here is really impressive here this year....people are really convinced summer is over and moving onto winter

I'm not....there's like no history of not hitting 90 after this but who knows. This is the wettest year we've ever had pretty much

I mean the clock is ticking there's no doubt

I mean it was still hot in SW Oklahoma yesterday too and of course DFW

Geez, the NAM and HRRR both keep DFW cooler than forecast today. It may end up being a great cool day. I hope the drizzle abates but otherwise loving it.

78 at 6 p.m. without rain is one heck of a unicorn day in Texas.

Our warmest day in the last 5 days is 81

Wow

And I still don't see anything much warmer than that... Maybe 83-84 next week before another front(and a couple days ago the apps were pushing 90 then so it's gotten cooler)

This is quite a fake fall
