18z HWRF and HAFS-A still showing a Hong Kong landfall, both weaker than 12z. Both are on the north end of both GFS and Euro ensembles.

Although not a full eye pass, a 21:44:55 UTC SAR pass earlier found 145 kt winds on the western side of the storm

Based on slight continued deepening since the buoy, I'd go 160 kt and 894 mb personally.

It really is such a shame, the entire 403rd wing that the 53rd WRS is just a part of has a budget of $84 million, which is less than a tenth of a percent of the US military budget. Providing recon for the WPac would literally be a rounding error in terms of military spending. And between Okinawa, Guam, and Kwajalein you could cover the entire basin with C130s.
