How is it historic?

Only to be a cat 5 that are only very few around the world in decades is a historic moment. Having two in only one season is impressive.

I also want to point out this is the 2nd time in recorded history that we had back-to-back seasons with two C5s in the NATL, the only other recorded time is 1932 and 1933

All observations are in Tecumseh, OK unless otherwise noted.

Winter posts are focused mainly for Oklahoma & Texas.

Take any of my forecasts with a grain of salt, refer to the NWS, SPC, and NHC for official information

Now I only hope that we can get some good big-eye candy from Humberto, somewhat similar to Ragasa in the WPAC.

Can see the EWRC in progress on this microwave pass. Eye looks to be quite large once it finishes

Hoping the EWRC can finish right as recon gets there to observe a second peak. That inner eye seems a little stubborn, though.

I am only a meteorology enthusiast who knows a decent amount about tropical cyclones. Look to the professional mets, the NHC, or your local weather office for the best information.

You can see the moat between the eyewalls on vis.

Was just going to point this out but you beat me to it. While that inner eyewall convection is still intense, it looks like it’s becoming detached inside the outer eyewall now. Think this is still on track to finish up overnight tonight. I haven’t looked at what conditions will be for Humberto tomorrow, but if still favorable, I think this eyewall cycle should finish up in time for a secondary peak tomorrow.

ERC without any shear is one of the neatest things to see.

Really neat microwave image of the EWRC. Glad to see that Humberto gets to show us this EWRC without any shear disrupting it, will be excited to see its new eye after it completes.

Haha no joke. That outer eyewall has buffed up a lot today though, only a matter of time.
