Re: Texas Fall 2025
Well it did rain a little bit here
That's the first real sign of change I've seen even if it's not gonna last. Maybe this is the beginning anyway

Wow so after a month or more of hot miserable dryness the pattern gets broken for what, one day?

It will likely set a new base line. Instead of near record above normal, it will be above normal...which low 80s will do in this climo. Any long term chill, will believe it when it happens. The issue is not just the pattern, lack of cold air is the other problem. Yes 40s/50s up north is chilly (above normal even for them) when it gets here moderated is meh...

It’s a good pattern other than the lack of rain. These temps and lower dews are amazing for me.

Cpv17 sure lower dew points are fine, but upper 80’s to near 90’s is a hard pass for me, it still sucks

NE Texas looks to get clipped Saturday (18th) evening with some severe weather possible. Most GFS/Euro runs are still generally on board with another, potentially more significant, rain event for next Thursday/Friday. (23rd/24th) At least for parts of the state (north/eastern TX focus).

Allergy season for me is always Feb-April. This fall season my allergies have been everyday. Nothing but dust and dry, crispy leaves in the backyard. Dust Bowl in October. Luckily tomorrow I will be in New England for several days in 50 degree air visiting Boston and New Hampshire for a fall break with my daughter. Much needed. Lived there when I was a child. Might be time to move there after gpsnowdaughter graduates.
Jealous. Boston is my favorite city I have ever visited. If I could move there, I would, though I would miss severe weather. My wife and I both love it. And the subway doesn’t smell unlike NYC…

There is at least hope, but it keeps moving back. This is absolutely awful. WOW are we paying for August.

Looks like a battleground sets up here between multiple cold fronts and the return flow starting this weekend. With brief warm ups followed by cool nights between multiple fronts next week.We may see our first 40's of the season also sometime next week.

Latest we've ever hit the 40s here on Friday
It's gotta end soon. Like time is up on this endless pattern here
Yes it's been hotter later but well we always have had real fronts by now

Usually down here we don’t get our first real front till late October.

Re: Texas Fall 2025
Hi everyone! It's been a while. I've been working hard getting our weather company going. We recently launched an app on Apple and Google Play which is slowly gaining traction. We actually hit #5 briefly on Apple in the weather category. Weather has definitely been boring lately. Need the jet stream to dig south more to really get us into a more favorable pattern for rain and cooler air. I think we will see some changes as we get closer to November though. Seeing subtle hints of a potential pattern change. It would be nice to get some more active weather because that would reinforce the need for meteorologists in dynamic weather.

You’re just gonna waltz back in here, mention an app you’ve been working on, float that it’s available for download, and not even say what the name is?
For shame.

Re: Texas Fall 2025
With any luck we might start stepping down next week
maybe
We should have been stepping down a few weeks ago but whatever
I think the biggest problem is there hasnt been a big storm to flip the pattern yet(didn't a typhoon just hit Alaska a few days ago?)
Our earliest snow is in 2 weeks

GFS/Euro still generally shows decent rain next Thurs/Fri, but some runs have it disappear.

Re: Texas Fall 2025
Model chaos is best described as what im seeing, as captainbarbossa19 said there are hints of a pattern change to end october, I am targeting around halloween for potentially a big fall front as the MJO moves into phase 4/5 , with 5 being a particularly cooler phase for the central and eastern Us
