DFW beat its daily rainfall record between the early morning and evening rounds, looks like 2.97” officially.

The lightning coming up 45 from about Wilmer north was amazing. Big streaks across the sky for miles. I almost made it home in time but I bailed out to a parking garage underground.

Hope the next 24 hours arent too rough for folks with a couple of squall lines moving into the area , the front arriving before halloween looks to be a pretty strong one with much cooler air taking over the state, and if the euro is correct with it trying to tank the EPO, cooler/ chillier conditions could extend well into the first week of november

3.10" is the final 2-day total.

What's funny is had it not been for the Thursday night / Friday morning QLCS overachieving, this event would have been a bust as last night's acitvity ended up being more progressive than originally projected.

This lighting was some of the brightest I’ve seen. We have shades in our room and the bedroom still lit up.

Yeah I got 2.29 from the first round. Only 1.15 from the second so a great total but more from the first. Lol.

Finally saw some bigger damage pics but frankly could still just be straight line winds.

Cooler fall week ahead. Next few days will be near normal. Then front will come through mid week. Areas in the northern and northeastern third of the state will be 60s and even 50s for highs. Lows in the 40s. Halloween looks below normal 60s/40.

We may see our first 30's of the season this week up here. OUN is even mentioning that the first freeze of the season may occur for far western zones of the CWA. :)

Looks like some more rain is coming into the southern half of the metroplex.

The heavy cell that moved in from the SW into southern Tarrant had some intense rain and a load of pea size hail with it.

Heavy downpour in Coppell and it looks like the airport is getting drilled as well.

Won't be as long-lived but this is just as intense as last night. Wow.

It absolutely dumped. DFW airport so far 1.40" making monthly total 4.5" or so..from dry as bone to whole month's worth in one system.
