If this was 2019, they would call this storm at 165-170 knots

The NHC's official forecasts call for a 120 kt Cat 4 just south of Cuba.

Also the dropsonde still has 94% RH. The eye is still completely healthy all the way up until landfall.

The dropsonade has established the legitimacy of the AF plane's extrap readings, so if they do another eye pass (praying that they can do so safely), it may give greater credence to such readings.

If the forecast is right, Black River and Santa Cruz look to be getting hammered. I hope everyone has evacuated those areas if possible.

I teach high school journalism, so I will turn on streaming from news today for this historic tragedy.

What are the best streams/news coverage?

NOAA is flying toward the storm again. Maybe they were getting ready.

There is no opportunity for the forecasts to fail at this point.
